Goldfish is the result of long-term selective breeding of common crucian carp by humans. Originating in China, goldfish began to be kept by humans about a thousand years ago. Goldfish were originally raised in ponds in China. At that time, people discovered that some mutant individuals had more beautiful colors and shapes, and began to consciously select these individuals for breeding. Over time, through long-term selection and breeding, goldfish have gradually evolved into the various species we are familiar with today, with colorful colors and unique shapes.
However, although human selection played a crucial role in the evolution of goldfish, nature also "guided" it to a certain extent by changing its living environment and I wish I could through a perspective shift to contemplate the evolution of goldfish from various angles, comprehending the complexity of human-nature interaction.
